ColtM2700

The Colt M2700 is a railgun pistol that is commonly found amongst the military (under various guises) of the United Planets.  Styled after the ancient M1911 with a "modern" (as of 2742) look, though most feel it a "retro" design.  Despite this the weapon fires .45 caliber projectiles and is fed from a 9-round box magazine.  A double-stack version (known as the M2700DS) is available in a 14-round magazine configuration.  Outwardly the same models look alike (and perform the same) despite the obvious enlargement of the DS version).  It features an accessory rail forward of the trigger guard and some models have a rail on the top.
