M230 Caseless Assault Rifle

Like the Denel Arms M40, the M230 weapon system is still a cost effective alternative to the more used railguns of the Eagle Hammer universe. While by the 28th century railgun technology has matured and driven costs down, the cost of manufacturing caseless weapons still remains an attractive option for arms manufacturers. Used mainly by mercenaries the M230 is a cost-effective platform for the merc on a budget. Firing a 5mm caseless round the M230 has a 30-round magazine and can mount any accessory available on the open market. The weapon pictured above is used by the Red Wings mercenary unit, which mounts a Thorssen multi-spectral sight and a top-mounted reflex sight. The side mounts a combined IR/visible laser and tactical flashlight as well as a tactical grip as well as backup iron sights.
