MMCV Red Dragoons, Middle East 2742

The Red Dragoons is a small Company sized mercenary unit that hails from Caledonia, in the Independent Planets section of he known human universe in the 28th century. They are a light mechanized unit and so far one of the largest users of the MMCV. This particular vehicle is a common configuration, with the cargo versions (as well as sentry units the Headquarters platoon) being strictly AI controlled, while all combat vehicles are human controlled and crewed. During it's tenure on Earth the Company was tasked to protect various convoys (mainly civilian) throughout the region, sandwiched in between the Muslim Coalition, Islamic Holy Republic, Kurdistan, and the Arab Front areas. Their main concern was security, and was based in the former Jordanian capital of Amman. The armament package was fairly common and necessary for that region. The vehicle mounts a Brubaker unmanned, self-enclosed turret that mounted a 30mm autocannon as well as two pods of Javelin missiles. The Javelin system is a three-cell, dual role system capable of engaging air and ground targets if needed. While light, the various militias, small groups of various groups of various stripes didn't always use sophisticated anti-tank missiles against the convoys that the Red Dragoons protected. The illustration also shows the Turret Module for the MMCV, which was a simple power mechanism to allow self-enclosed turret systems to be employed. In this configuration the vehicle could reach speeds of around 160 kph/99 mph. Given the relatively flat areas of the Middle East, the weapon systems allowed a modicum of standoff capability when engaging threats.
